Overdue for an Update!

Wow...where to start?!

Well, let's go back to December...December was a crazy month for us :) Andy's mom, Carolyn, flew out to Oklahoma City to help me drive to Oregon. Her and I, along with both dogs and some belongings, left for a 3-day roadtrip to Oregon. We drove through Kansas (gross...very windy), Colorado and into Wyoming the first day. When we woke up the next morning, everything was covered in snow. We hit the road at a much slower pace than planned due to the icy roads and SUPER thick fog. We drove from Wyoming, through the corner of Utah (BEAUTIFUL), into Idaho. I was so happy to stop near Boise and catch up with some old friends. We spent the night with my friend Cassie's parents, Mike and Kim. It was so good to see them again (they used to be my neighbors) and to see Cassie's son. He is adorable. We finally made it to Oregon on day 3, exhausted from the trip. I had about 1 week to find Andy and I a place to live, so Danielle, Michael and I (Andy's sister and brother-in-law) went to look at some places in Eugene. I had been researching and had a couple appointments set up. After a day of searching, we ended up liking the first house.

By the time Andy made it out to Oregon, I had the house lined up. We spent the first night at his mom and sister's, and then made the drive down to Eugene to move in. Michael helped us move everything in, and Carolyn and Dani came down for dinner that night. A couple weeks later, we were able to drive up to McMinnville to spend Christmas with his family, which was such a blessing. We were going to be spending Christmas alone in Oklahoma, so we really cherished the time up there. We have been able to go up to McMinnville 3 times now, and his mom and sister have come to visit us once. It's nice to be close to family...we are enjoying the visits!

Other than that, we have been enjoying Eugene and learning our way around. We haven't been able to make it to a church service together, but are hoping to soon. Andy's job is going well...he gets home earlier than he did in Oklahoma, so we are both very happy about that! We attended a Brewing Festival here, which was a lot of fun, especially since Andy is really into homebrewing. He was able to get a kegging kit with his Christmas/Birthday money and gift certificates. Now I don't have to worry about cleaning up bottles :) He has brewed a few batches of beer and is now growing his own hops for next season.

I had to have some dental work done in February, and met a friend in the process :) She is the periodontist's dental hygienist. We ended up hitting it off with her and her husband at dinner (Ashley & Elliott) and are excited to build a friendship with them. We will all be attending Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University soon, which will be hard, but very rewarding in the future.

The dogs have adapted very well. Scout is on medication twice a day now to stop the seizures he was having. They were geting so bad, that he was having them almost daily and would lose control of his legs :( They were very confused when it snowed here, so that was entertaining! I have recently found the motivation to get back to working out. Who knew that all it would take was stepping on the scale?! LOL. We bought a scale, and the number that popped up was surprising, depressing and life-changing. We have been making changes to our diets, similar to the diet I adapted to pre-surgery last February. I also just finished Week 1 of my workouts. I am doing a Jillian Michaels DVD, "30 Day Shred." It's pretty hard, but I can't wait to track the results. I will try to track my progress on here.

So...that's all I can think of for now. I don't make New Year's resolutions, but I decided to make a "2nd Year of Marriage Resolution." I will go over that in my next post...which won't be 3 months from now ;)

I'll also post some pics of our house on the next post.
